30 Days of Gratitude

Holy Shmokes. It’s November. Already. Hot damn.

What are you thankful for?

Are you thankful?

You thankful?

Thankful?

Thirty days of November, and usually the theme of the month is “thankfulness” because Thanksgiving also falls in this month. I’ve seen a lot of pictures or posts on Pinterest and Facebook for a 30 Days of Gratitude Challenge. You know, what family member are you greatful for today? What teacher are you most greatful for? When I know I could write about my sister Kasey and my 4th grade teacher – I decided to make my own. Mainly because I wanted to bring attention to the little things that sometimes we glance over or take for granted.

Feel free to join, or just glance over. You don’t have to blog about it ( i won’t be blogging every day, but a tweet here or there), post about it, talk about it. Just once a day, think of one small thing. Some may be silly, some may be stupid (like really..what SOUND am I grateful for?) but some may just get you thinking.

1. What smell are you most grateful for?

2. What plant are you most grateful for?

3. What small thing that you use daily are you thankful for?

4. What piece of technology are you grateful for?

5. What book are you most grateful for?

6. What work related activty are you grateful for? (ya know, if possible)

7. What comfort food are you most thankful for?

8. What day of the week are you grateful for?

9. What shoes are you thankful for?

10. What song are you grateful for right now?

11. What sound are you grateful for?

12. What fruit are you thankful for?

13. What drink are you thankful for?

14. What outside activity are you grateful for?

15. What movie are you thankful for?

16. What about your body are you thankful for?

17. What moment this week are you thankful for?

18.Who in your house are you thankful for?

19. What makes you happy that you are grateful for?

20. What phone call are you thankful for?

21. What piece of clothing are you grateful for?

22. What item in your bedroom are you grateful for?

23. What place in your house are you most thankful for?

24. What time of the day are you grateful for?

25. What shortcut are you thankful for?

26. What item in your office are you thankful for?

27. What snack are you thankful for?

28. What shirt are you thankful for?

29. What item in your kitchen are you grateful for?

30. What are you thankful for?

So starting with #1.

What smell are you most grateful for?

DoTerra Deep Blue. Tuesdays are rough, two tough work outs of spin class and circuit training (then to throw on top of that the rigorous taco tuesday eating). So I use my deep blue rub on my arms, legs, abs (ha ya okay…”abs”) to help with the soreness. It works and it smells nice too!

Motivation Monday // 11/18/13

Another week, another Motivation Monday.

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.” – Unknown

This weeks motivational goal is a juice cleanse. I’ve done some research, talked to a few friends who have done it and decided to do the SUJA juice cleanse. You can either have it delivered daily or buy it at Whole Foods. I’m looking to save that extra buck and just go buy it a Whole Foods. After these past few weekends of weddings and bachelorette parties…I need a shock to my system. Start over clean and keep it that way.

I’m doing the three day juice cleanse, it includes 6 juices a day. All juice have to be drank in the same order

Q. Does it really matter what order I drink the juices?

A. The order in which you consume your juices affects how you absorb, assimilate, and digest nutrients. For example, when your stomach is empty first thing in the morning, it’s able to assimilate whatever you put in it much more than if you consumed something prior. That is why we always have a Green Juice, “GLOW” first. We follow that by our carrot based “FUEL”. Your body will absorb all of these great nutrients.

It’s time to make a change to have more healthy life style. I’m already very active, but what gets me is my eating habits. When I eat and what I eat are both turning into big decisions in my day. No more snacking in the office, thank you!

Todays #MotivationMonday is concentrated on starting clean and eating right – and then keeping the body clean and continue to eat right and healthy.

And of course keeping to the cleanse and not letting my sweet tooth get me side tracked!

I’ve got a great support system around me, well I just think the four boys I live with are keeping bets on how long I’ll last on this 3-day juice cleanse. (I’m sure they’re taking bets!) Just makes me more determined to prove em wrong:) They’ll just have to put up with my bitchy-ness for a bit!

The next 48 hours…

It’s a Friday night.

AND IT’S ALMOST OVER.

What are you going to do tomorrow? Or the next day?

You need to get the most out of your weekend.

Odds are you already spend the week day working

or training

then coming home and sleeping.

I’ve got ten easy suggestions to help you get the most out of your weekend, and not spending it on an alcohol binge or checking into pillow paradise and not checking out until Monday morning!

1. Everyone likes to sleep in! However, instead of sleeping in till 11am on both Saturday and Sunday; just pick one. Pick whichever day you want to sleep in as LONG as you want. What ever day you don’t pick, try to wake up at a normal breakfast time! Start your day with a nice cup of coffee and get this show on the road!

2. Do something early. On the day your NOT too busy sleeping, take the dog for a walk on the beach! Or ride your bike to a morning cuppa! Read a book on your lanai or make breakfast for the fambam!

3. Go out for a night! Pick a night to get the band back together and go out to dinner, or drinks…or both! Hit up the movie theater or local dive bar!

4. The night you aren’t going out however, cook a home cooked meal. It’s Sunday, if you aren’t working you have plenty of time to go to the grocery store and pick out special items for a new recipe! Share it with friends! Or cook a romantic meal for a special someone.

5. DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF! If you’re like me you spend a great deal of time thinking about your roommates, friends or boyfriends and making sure they’re happy at all times. But right now-its “ME TIME”. If you’re also anything like you, you can’t afford to go get a nice pedicure-so pick a crazy color and do it yourself!

6. Try something new! Want to learn to knit? Youtube that ish. Want to learn to canoe or kayak? Check out the Newport Aquatic Center,  www.newportaquaticcenter.com, down in Newport Beach, CA! Or go take a yoga class at your local yoga studio!

7. Clean out your closet! Any girl will admit that they could always use a few hours to clean out their closet! Any boyfriend will agree.

8. Get out into Nature. If you can’t be near the ocean to take a swim or stand up paddle; go out into the world and find a hike! Make an adventure out of it! And of course take many, many, pictures!

9. Plan a date night at home. Even if you aren’t “dating” anyone right now- PICK YOUR BEST FRIEND! Watch movies, drink wine and just relax- you have nowhere to be!

10. Go to the park. When’s the last time you went TO A PARK! For real. Take a towel. Take a book. Take a camera! Spend a half hour outdoors at a park, just listening. You’ll be amazed at what you hear.

Now I understand that not everyone has time to do all TEN of these suggestions. Just pick two or three of your favorites and go from there! Don’t spend your weekend eating hot cheetos and watching Teen Mom re-runs!

Thankfulness

20121123-212719.jpg

just like anyone else around this time, I’m thinking about what I’m grateful for.

Also, just like anyone else; I’m thankful for my family, friends, health and job. I wouldn’t be anywhere without my sisters, hopeless and clueless without my friends, obviously not doing well without my health and going no where without my job.

I’m thankful that my boyfriend is supportive of my wild ideas for our new place, our dog and all around life style (he’s still trying to figure out why I blog though…).

That’s my quick little thankful note.

Just try to keep in mind what your thankful for. And try to show what your thankful for. Thank your boss for letting you have that extra sick day, or your brother for always picking up from the airport at who knows what time. It’s the little things in life that build strong relationships with people.
